Questions & answers

Before the adventure.

From release plans to the way you play, here are answers to the questions that come up most.

Release & getting started

When can I play GS Vitro?

The game is not available to download yet. The announced target is October 30, 2026; a passed target date does not confirm a release. See the release page for the current status.

Is this a ROM hack?

No. GS Vitro is a standalone PC fangame made with RPG Maker XP. You do not need a Pokemon ROM or a patcher.

Which languages are planned?

Spanish, English and French are planned for the game. This website is currently available in English; website languages and game languages are separate.

Will the first release include Kanto?

The first release focuses on Johto. Kanto is planned as a later expansion. We are not announcing a date for it here.

Where will I find the download?

On our Download page. Once the release is confirmed, it will link directly to the team’s maintained file hosts. Until then, there is no game download button.

Devices & compatibility

Which devices can run the game?

PC is the native platform. Android playback uses Kirin or JoiPlay, and iOS playback uses Empo through sideloading. These are separate apps that run the PC game, not native GS Vitro mobile releases. See platform guidance before choosing a device.

Can I play on a Nintendo DS or 3DS?

No. GS Vitro is not a Nintendo DS or 3DS game and cannot run on those consoles.

What are the PC requirements and installation steps?

Release-specific requirements, archive contents and setup steps will be published with the actual game files. We have not confirmed a minimum specification or additional runtime requirement here.

Will my mobile device work?

Mobile compatibility depends on your device, operating system and playback app version. Check the app publisher’s current requirements. The team recommends Kirin on Android; JoiPlay is another option. iOS requires Empo and sideloading.

Inside the adventure

How does Free Mode change the journey?

Free Mode opens up your starting point and route through Johto, while Pokemon levels adapt to your team. It is designed to make revisiting the region less linear. Read more about progression and exploration.

Does GS Vitro include new Mega Evolutions?

Yes. The announced roster includes new Mega forms for selected Johto and Kanto Pokemon, including the Johto starter evolutions. Our features overview explains the expanded roster and the announced new forms.

Do I still need HMs?

Field Moves replace the traditional HM approach. They help your team interact with the world without the same move-slot restrictions. Other changes include Pokegear PC access, quick healing and battle turbo.

Are there optional challenge modes?

Permadeath and Random modes are announced options. They offer different ways to replay the adventure. See modes and sharing for the currently described scope.

Why do some screenshots have Spanish text?

The gallery contains original development screenshots, some taken with Spanish dialogue. We keep those images intact and label them in the optional encounters section. They do not imply the English game has been cancelled.
